DeeAnna Denton – Look Alike of a Hong Kong Actress of 50s

Tonner has been releasing many different kinds of dolls in different sizes lately that I am kind of losing track of them. However, one girl really draws my attention is DeeAnna Denton, the new series of Tonner’s 17” tall girl. I love the original illustration of DeeAnna Denton, which is kind of typical Alberto Vargas girl’s look. But the actual doll looks so different. DeeAnna Denton looks very outgoing and pleasant, such a sex boom in the illustration; while the actual doll looks very conservative and introvert. Does DeeAnn looks alike this Hong Kong movie actress of the 50s?

Cheng Big-Yin - she looked like a doll herself

And the funny thing is that I found the doll looks very much alike a Hong Kong movie actress of the 50s – Cheng Big-Ying (鄭碧影) instead. She was activie in the show busines as an actress in Cantones opera and B& W movie in the 50s. I tired to google for her picture online. Unfortunately, there were very few available and some of them are tiny pictures. Enclosed is the best picture of Cheng Big-Ying that I could find online. Do you find they look alike like as I do?

Antoinette - New Tonner Release

( new face sculpts and newly developed bodies )

(This is the faceup doll)

(You have options of face-off, and different skin tones)

In the St. Valentine's Day, Tonner released the highly expected new 16" vinyle and hard plastics doll series, Antoinette - These dolls claimed to have new face sculpt and newly developed body. Below is what Tonner has stated in their website:

"Antoinette™, is a 16" fashion doll with a brand new face and body sculpt. She takes on many different looks depending on her skin tone, hair color and face paint. I have been working on the design and engineering of Antoinette™ to achieve a high fashion mannequin whose body and jointing become the perfect foil for my passion-designing clothing. I think this is one of the most outstanding clothing collections that the Tonner Doll Company has ever produced.

Honestely, I was expecting these dolls to have more human like sexy physicque, more articulated. And most of all, with stronger character and looks. Unfortunately, I could only see some mild modificiations from the existing Tonner girls. To me, their bodies and looks are far too conservative to be high fashion mannequins. These girls would not be able to put on bikini as there are big gaps between her legs. And I am so not into the oversized head with round face sculpt which gives these girls a feel of children trying to be an adult.

(Small mouth Tonner Girl, again!)

However, there are 2 outfits that I am quite interested in - Idyllic, Sensual. I would like to alter them into a skirt version with tail instead. If you are not a gown person like me, there are quite a number of outfits packs, shoes packs to choise from their new releases. For details, please check out Tonner's website!
